Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Haidergarh, district Barabanki was established in 2005. The KVK is under the administrative control of Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya has a total area of approx. 12.9 ha. The KVK was established with the following mandates :
In order to achieve above mandates, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Haidergarh, Barabanki is conducting various activities such as; a) Planning and conducting survey of the operational area in order to prepare the resource inventory with special reference to identifying the training needs of the farming community. b) Planning and conducting production oriented, need-based short and long duration training courses both on campus as well as in the villages for various target groups with priority on the weaker and deprived communities. c) Developing and organizing non-formal educational programmes by way of field days, farm visits, farmers’ fair, radio talk etc. as the follow up information support to training courses. d) Testing and verification of the technologies. Apart from this, KVK also plays an instrumental role in implementing all such schemes of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and other related organizations which intend to strengthen the training programmes of Kendras.
To impart the technology transfer effectively, the KVK has developed close linkages with district level developments viz; Agriculture/Horticulture/Fisheries/ Dairy/Animal Husbandry and NGOs in their extension programme.
